Recently updated FTDI drivers on Windows, soft bricking FTDI clone chips

Hackaday is reporting that a recent Microsoft Update includes updated FTDI drivers that are altering the PID values on counterfeit FTDI chips. The upshot is, your Arduino clone may stop working if used with a recent driver on Windows.

The change is reversible though.
